New Delhi, Feb 11, 2017: Union Minister of State for Law and Justice and Electronics and Information Technology, Shri P.P Choudhary gave away the One Globe Awards at the sixth annual edition of One Globe Forum being held in the capital. The awards recognize and honor individuals as well as domestic and international companies for their contributions in building a 21st century knowledge economy through their initiatives in digital economy, R&D, smart cities, entrepreneurship, mobile innovation and social empowerment. The Forum was inauguratedby Shri Rao Inderjit Singh, Union Minister of State for Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, in the presence of Lord Raj Loomba, Founder and Chairman Trustee, The Loomba Foundation; Dr. Mukesh Aghi, President, U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC); Mr. Shalabh Kumar, Founder and President, Republican Hindu Coalition; Mr. Dalbir Singh, Senior Advisor, Forum of Federations Canada and Mr. Harjiv Singh, Convenor, One Globe Forum.
ISRO won theAward for excellence inresearch and development. The Award for enabling aSmart State was won by Maharashtra, whileNagpur Municipal Corporation won the Award for Smart Cities. The Award for Enabling a Digital Economy was won byTech Mahindra. Power Finance Corporation won the Award for Mobile Innovation. Shalabh Kumar, Chicago-based American-Indian industrialist and philanthropist was conferred the Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship. TheAward for Social Empowerment was bagged byUttar Pradesh Police Mahila Samman Prakoshth.
