Chairman and Managing Director, Zen Technologies

Ashok is the Chairman and Managing Director of Zen Technologies where he has been at the forefront to develop indigenous technology for the Indian Defence industry.

Zen Technologies develops state-of-the-art training equipment and simulators for weapons and allied defence equipment. Incorporated in 1993 and headquartered in Hyderabad, Zen supplied over 450 simulators to over 100 customers across all the three armed forces, State and Central Police Forces of India and other countries.  Zen’s R&D facility has been recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Since Zen’s inception, Ashok has been responsible for building customer base, driving strategy and ensuring quality service delivery of the simulators for the Defence, Homeland, Mining and Transport sectors.With a focus on developing world-class training equipment for the Indian Defence sector, Ashok believes in laying emphasis on Research and Development which has lead Zen to design and develop standardised simulators.

Ashok brings with him a rich experience of two decades in the Defence and Technology sectors globally.

Besides many achievements during his successful career, Ashok was also conferred the ‘Small Scale Entrepreneur of the Year’ award from Hyderabad Management Association in 1998. He is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) .

He continues to serve as the member on the Defence Committee of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and  The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) where he advocates the necessity of promoting indigenous development of technology, where possible, over thoughtless import of technology. He has suggested that indigenously developed technology should be given procured preferentially over imported ones, by having assured orders, provided they meet the technical requirements.

He has attended Executive Education programs in various prestigeous institutes like Harvard Business School, Stanford Business School, London Business School and  Indian School of Business (ISB). He holds a post-graduate diploma degree holder in Applied Computer Science from CMC Ltd.

In his spare time Ashok pampers his eclectic tastes in reading He is also an avid Vipassana meditator.
