Associate Director, Global Development Incubator
Moitreyee leads the Beyond Health portfolio at the Global Development Incubator and has extensive experience in incubating multi-stakeholder initiatives, scaling the impact of social enterprises and integrating technological innovations in resource-constrained settings. Moitreyee has a PhD in Physics and has led several multidisciplinary innovation programs on the private sector side at GE’s global research center cutting across health, energy, water and consumer products. Moitreyee has also led the GE Foundation’s Global Health Program, bringing user-centered design and a multidisciplinary approach to partner with governments, non-profits, academia and private sector to deploy technology and build human capacity in resource poor settings.
Moitreyee has supported the design and scale-up of national programs on emergency care, maternal and child survival, clean water access and girls’ education across 15 countries. She has launched new public-private-academic partnerships with Ministries of Health and Education, including mobile technology platform for frontline health workers, national training programs on biomedical repair and maintenance, and social enterprises for medical oxygen delivery.
At the Global Development Incubator, Moitreyee works with social enterprises to link community-led development to systems changes. She also works with funders, investors, development institutions and non-profits to incubate new multi-stakeholder initiatives on digital health, clean water and mental health.
Moitreyee has received the Kingdom of Cambodia’s highest award for Philanthropy, GE’s Dushman award for highest technical team achievement and Global Business Coalition’s Award for Disease Prevention & Beyond.
