Dhiraj Mathur is an Executive Director with PwC, India Firm, since September 2007 and leads the Education practice at PwC. He is on the CII National Committee on Education and has authored several thought leadership reports and articles on the sector. He has been the lead advisor to many foreign and Indian corporations, universities and educational institutions on their India entry plans and joint ventures.
Dhiraj's work experience includes 24 years in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), a Consultant's position with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation and with the World Bank/IFC. As Chief of Staff to the Minister of Human Resources Development, he was associated with formulating federal policy in Education - key scheme launched was "Education for All". During his stint as Director in the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Government of India, he handled the sensitive change of the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) and participated in crucial reforms. He has international experience in advisory operations in foreign direct investment.
As Secretary of the Energy Department of Madhya Pradesh (MP), he introduced reforms and unbundled the monolithic State Electricity Board to 5 corporate entities
Dhiraj has a B.Tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, a Masters in Economic Policy Management from Columbia University, New York, an MBA in Finance degree from Pace University and an M.Phil in Finance and International Economics from New School University, New York.
