Arun Sundararajan is the NEC Faculty Fellow and Associate Professor at New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where he has recently been deeply involved in charting the institution's India-directed strategy. For 2010-12, he is also the SRITNE Distinguished Academic Fellow at the Indian School of Business, and is co-director of their Identity Initiative, an inter-disciplinary multi-institute collaboration that studies the impact of India's ongoing nationwide UID rollout.
Some of Professor Sundararajan's other current and recent research focuses on the use of information technologies to facilitate economic and political development, contagion and ecosystem evolution in networks and social media, digital pricing and online privacy. He has published widely in academic journals has given more than 200 conference and invited presentations internationally. His research has won three Best Paper awards, has been profiled by numerous trade publications, and has been supported by organizations that include Google, IBM, Microsoft and Yahoo!
Professor Sundararajan's opinion pieces have appeared in BusinessWorld, CIO Magazine, the Economic Times, the Financial Times, Harvard Business Review, Knowledge@Wharton and the Mint. He is Senior Editor of the journal Information Systems Research and has served on the editorial boards of MIS Quarterly and Management Science.
