The Sagar School (www.thesagarschool.org) is a non-profit coeducational boarding school (classes IV to XII); winner of International School Award (British Council) 2010. Founded by the late Dr. Vidya Sagar, an icon in corporate and Intellectual property law, it embodies his vision to bring together the finest of global educational systems and extracurricular activities. Rosemary, Dr. Vidya Sagar's daughter, has recently taken over as chairman of The Sagar School and The Sagar Foundation, a cultural non-profit initiative. She has had a long career in investment management. Since 2005 she has been managing the investments of the Kingdon Foundation, New York City, which she invests into hedge funds and private equity funds. 1996-2004 she was Managing Director and Head of Global Investment at US Trust. 1990-1996 SVP, International Equities at GE Investments in Stamford, CT, as well as Chairman of GE (UK) Common Investment Fund (GE's largest pension fund outside North America) and board member of the GE Netherlands Pension Fund. 1987-1990, Associate Director of Research at Baring Securities. Rosemary was also VP, International Research at Drexel Burnham Lambert and 1984-1986 the first international analyst at Morgan Stanley.
Rosemary was member of the International Advisory Board of NYSE Euronext and its predecessor the Paris Bourse from 1995 to 2008, and has also served on the Advisory Boards of Comex and the Polish Private Equity Fund. She received her MBA from Columbia University in 1984, her BS from Boston University in 1981 and a "degré superieur" from the Sorbonne in Paris in 1980. Previously, her schooling was in the UK (Canford School, A levels), Germany (Arndt Gymnasium Berlin), and India (Mater Dei Convent School and Summer Fields School).
