Mr. Isoda is the Executive Vice President, The University of Tokyo. He joined the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture (MEXT) in 1977. In 1988, he served as First Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in Australia. Prior to his posting abroad, he was Director of the Cultural Administration and Compulsory Education Divisions on the Kagawa Prefecture Board of Education. After returning to Japan, he has served as Director in the field of local education support, research aid, and science and technology policy. From 2004 to 2005 he served as Executive Vice ]President of the University of Tsukuba. Prior to his appointment to the current position in January 2012, he has served as Director ]General in the field of budget and accounts, private education, research promotion and higher education within MEXT.
Mr. Isoda received his bachelor.s degree (LL.B.) from the University of Tokyo and his Master of Politics (M.Ps.) and Education (M.Ed.) from Stanford University
