In December 2011, Eckert led Bloomberg TV's breaking news coverage of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il's death. And the prior year, he was the first Bloomberg TV reporter to appear live from Pyongyang, North Korea.

One year earlier, Eckert reported live from Bangkok in the aftermath of the deadliest Thai political violence in decades.
Eckert also reported live from the 2010 G-20 Presidential Summit in Seoul where he interviewed global CEOs, finance ministers, and central bankers as the European sovereign debt crisis intensified.
Prior to joining Bloomberg in 2007, Eckert covered local news as an on-air reporter for Cablevision's 24-hour News 12 Networks in New York City and worked as a New York-based business producer for NHK, Japan's public broadcaster. He began his career at WNBC-TV, NBC Universal's flagship television station in New York.
