Honorary CEO, The Education Alliance
Amitav currently serves as the Honorary CEO at The Education Alliance. Previously, he worked at ARK India, a philanthropic organisation focused on Education, where, as Country Director, he set up and managed the India operations for 6 years. He and his team were responsible for launching several programmes in India such as School Leaders for India – a leadership capacity building programme, ASPIRE- an English Literacy programme, ENABLE – a vouchers school access programme and EQUIPS – School Quality Assesment initiative funded by DFID.
He serves on the Education Advisory Task Force of FICCI and is an Aspen Fellow of the India Leadership Initiative. He sits on the board of several companies and is a Managing Committee member of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Amitav previously worked with Ranbaxy Laboratories and Bristol Myers Squibb & Co. He has an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been a member of the International Board of Advisors for its Kenan Flagler Business School for the past 3 years. He was educated at the Doon School, Dehra Dun and went on to study Economics at St. Stephens College, Delhi.
