Former High Commissioner, Pakistan to Singapore
Ambassador Sajjad Ashraf completed his 35-year diplomatic career as High Commissioner of Pakistan and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Singapore in December 2008. During the course of his career he worked on several assignments both at home and abroad. Since February 2009 he is associated with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, as an adjunct professor. Mr. Ashraf served as an advisor to Fullerton Financial Holdings, a wholly owned Temasek (US$200 billion Singapore sovereign wealth fund) from 2009-2010. From 2010 to 2013 he was a senior research fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, (ISEAS) Singapore – where he now serves as an associate fellow. June 2013 he was also appointed consultant to the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore. Mr. Ashraf is also serving as a consultant with Gerson Lehrman Group; a US based primary research and expert network service, since early 2009. Mr. Ashraf has spoken at many seminars and conferences. His op-ed pieces and commentaries are published in 10 countries. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Forman Christian College, Lahore and a Master’s in Defense and Strategic Studies, from National Defense University, Islamabad. He has also completed management and leadership courses in Malaysia, Pakistan and Singapore.
