Vaishali Nigam Sinha is a Director on the Board of ReNew Power, India’s leading renewable energy company. The company is committed to leading the change in India’s current energy portfolio by delivering cleaner and smarter energy choices and thereby reducing India’s carbon footprint. Under the ambit of ReNew India Initiative (RII), Vaishali drives the corporate social responsibility initiatives at the company.

Vaishali is also the Founder and CEO of iCharity, an 80G certified, non-profit online platform which brings together those who want to give and those who are committed to working in the social sector. iCharity enlists NGOs operating in India and provides them with a platform to showcase their work and reach out to donors. The aim of iCharity is to bring transparency and professional standards in the Indian non-profit sector.

Vaishali started her career on Wall Street as an investment banker at J.P Morgan. After stints in New York and London, she returned to India in 2003 where after several years in banking, she became a social entrepreneur.

Vaishali earned a degree in Bachelors of Arts from Delhi University and a Masters in Public Policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs in New York. While at Columbia, she received the prestigious American Association of University Women scholarship.

Currently, she is the co-chair, CII Task Force on Arts, Heritage & Culture. She is also the co-chair, Regional Committee on CSR & Gender Equality at CII Northern region. She is a member of the Nominating Committee of the first Justice JS Verma Award for Women’s Empowerment, which is sponsored by Ananda, the Coca-Cola India Foundation and a member of the CII National Committee on CSR. She is a strong advocate of equal participation of women in economic activities especially at the grass-roots. She is an accomplished classical Indian dancer, enjoys travelling and is passionate about social impact and wants to make “giving” a way of life in India.

She is a recipient of the CSR Leadership Award 2015 at the National Awards for Excellence in CSR and Sustainability and prestigious Women Leadership Award at CMO ASIA, Singapore.
