Political & Economic Analyst, and Social Entrepreneur

Dr. Priya Virmani is a political and economic analyst, a writer, a social entrepreneur, and a passionate advocate for women’s issues. In January 2017, she won the All Ladies League Award for the ‘Iconic Woman Creating A Better World For All’, in recognition for her contribution to empowering women and children, and for her political and economic talks and writing. In November 2017 she received the ‘You Are Stardust Award’ awarded by Radio Works, London, for ‘making a positive impact on the world’ via her writings and social entrepreneurship.

Dr. Virmani received her PhD from the University of Bristol, UK. She is a TEDx speaker, and has given talks on topics such as globalization, political economy, entrepreneurship, women’s rights, and the non-profit sector, in India, China, the USA, the UK, Ireland, Austria, Malta and Puerto Rico.

As a Political and Economic Analyst, Dr. Virmani contributes to BBC Radio and writes for publications across the globe, including The Guardian and The New Statesman, London. She contributes to politics and economics panels on television channels including NDTV and India Today.

Dr. Virmani is the Founder and Director of Paint Our World, a project that aims to empower and rehabilitate underserved children who have endured trauma as a result of rape, child abuse, and becoming orphaned. Every child that Paint Our World works with goes to a reputable school.

Dr. Virmani has also worked as a mentor with corporates and individuals, empowering them to define and realise their goals.
