Rashi Dhir is a Senior Partner at the law firm, DMD. He heads the Firm’s Corporate and Tax Transactional Practice. Mr. Dhir earned his LL.M. from Harvard Law School, Boston, USA and his LL.B. from Delhi University, India.
Mr. Dhir has over 20 years of experience in cross border transactions and international taxation. He has practiced law both in New York and India and has been associated with a number of prominent transactions and landmark judgments, such as Vodafone. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Dhir worked as a Senior Associate at Clifford Chance, New York in their Global Financial Products Group and as a Senior Associate with Arthur Andersen, Delhi in their International Tax Advisory Group. Additionally, Mr. Dhir has been the General Counsel and Managing Director for some of the prominent asset management firms in New York.
Mr. Dhir has been involved in some of the landmark cases in India and continues to provide counsel to a number of multi-national companies, private equity funds and financial institutions in India. His has extensive experience in advising clients in the following areas: mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, asset management (private equity funds and hedge funds), structured investments, securitization, structured finance and general corporate. Mr. Dhir has extensive experience in advising, structuring, negotiating, drafting and closing complex commercial and corporate transactions. He has represented Fortune 500 and Indian companies across a number of industries. In particular, he has represented prominent investment banks and other financial institutions in such transactions.
