Director, Artificial Intelligence, Azure and Search Partnerships, Microsoft

Vinay Kumar has over 20 years of global experience in the software, internet, digital media, mobile space sectors. He has worked in the business development, product marketing/management, strategy and operations verticals.

At present, Mr. Kumar is with Microsoft in Gurgaon, where he is heading business development for Artificial Intelligence and search engine in the region.  He has been with Microsoft for over 12 years, of which he spent 9 years in their headquarters in Redmond (USA) as a Director in the Windows division. At this position he was leading strategy and business incubation in BRIC markets.

Mr. Kumar’s work experience also extends to entrepreneurial ventures.  He was the CEO of a mobile media start-up and COO of an ed-tech startup in India.  He also served as a Senior Vice-President in Times Internet Ltd to drive corporate strategy and incubate new businesses.

Mr. Kumar has an MBA from the Wharton Business School and a Computer Science Engineer from BITS Pilani (India).  He is a US Citizen and an OCI Card holder.  He is a charter member at The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and a member of the Indian Angel Network.
