Managing Director – SUN Group; Executive Director & COO – SUN Mobility

Ajay Goel is a Managing Director at the SUN Group responsible for its global new energy investments including renewables, electric mobility and battery storage. He is also the Executive Director & COO at SUN Mobility, the Group’s flagship energy infrastructure company for electric mobility.

Ajay is a seasoned executive with 25+ years of hands-on experience in the field of high-tech as well as clean energy, with extensive expertise in turning around and scaling up companies around the world.

In his role as President Solar, Renew Power he helped scale up their utility solar business as well as established a distributed solar business catering directly to business customers.

Prior to ReNew Power, Ajay was the CEO at Tata Power Solar, where he led the turnaround of their struggling cell & module manufacturing business as well as ramped up a robust solar EPC business in both central and distributed generation.

Earlier, he spent 20 years in the United States at leading high-tech and clean-tech companies such as SunEdison, Brightsource Energy and McKinsey where he helped them with strategy, business development, mergers & acquisitions, new product introduction and streamlining operations.

Ajay is an MBA in Finance from the Booth School of Business in Chicago, and a B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
