India Correspondent, Asia News Editor, The Economist

Alex Travelli is an India correspondent for The Economist newspaper and the Asia editor for its newsdesk, based in Delhi. He writes mainly about political and social issues facing Indian states and regions, with some work on business and finance, as well as books and arts. Prior to this posting he was The Economist’s bureau chief in Hong Kong. He began his career in television, working as a freelancer attached to the CNN bureau in Delhi before moving to New York for the nightly broadcast at ABC News.
