Fariha Ansari Javed is a Board Member at the Harvard Business School Club of India and the 'Lead for the North'.
As the Advisor for India (between August 2011 - January 2016) at the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT), Fariha has been responsible for all foreign direct investment (FDI) from India to Turkey. She has been pivotal in improving the visibility of Turkey’s economy and investment climate to Indian investors. She also has excellent relationships with the leadership of the apex chambers of commerce in India.
She also has been liaising with other ministries in the Turkish government to support investments from India. During Ministerial and Head of State visits from Turkey to India, Fariha has been responsible for all business interactions and business related PR.
Prior to moving to India in 2010, Fariha worked as an Underwriter for AIG Global Marine and Energy in New York City from 2003 to 2008. She focused on providing US Oil, Petrochemical, Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Maritime companies with insurance for their international assets and the reinsurance placements in the international markets.
Thereafter, she joined Zurich Insurance Services in New York City in 2008 as Manager for International Property Business (IPB) and managed a team of underwriters for US clients with international property across all sectors. At Zurich, Fariha was responsible for a multi-billion dollar insurance portfolio and reinsurance placements.
Fariha is an alumnus from Harvard Business School and has successfully completed the Program for Leadership Development. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College in International Relations and Economics.
Fariha is currently a Board Member at the Harvard Business School Club of India. She is a member of the Harvard Business School Club of New York. Fariha is also a founding member of Womensphere Global Network.
